The children have been trying their hand at a new writing style, poetry! We began by reading a selection of poems written by other children and noticing different things about them.

They also thought about how poets got their ideas. They realised that poets write about; things they enjoy doing, things they want, things they like and sometimes the things they have. The children picked out their favourite poem to make into a class book. Here it is below as a movie. Listen to it with your child and see if you can spot what kind of poem they wrote and the poetry features they put in?
